Renee Augustine
Principal, Studio R
Childhood travels with her family and exposure to art and culture led Renee Augustine to pursue a career in interior design. Renee was born and raised in Montana, but as a toddler her family lived in Hawaii for a brief time. While there, she learned to appreciate the surf as much as the rugged mountains. In 1988, Renee moved to Denver to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design.
Shortly thereafter, Renee opened a high-end gift store in Denver’s Cherry Creek shopping district. Goosebumps was well-known for its incredible gift baskets, custom stationery and event planning services. Renee sold Goosebumps in 1993 to focus on her design work. A second generation entrepreneur, she opened Studio R, a full-service Interior Design firm offering a unique urban style.
In 2000 Renee met her future husband, Augie. The couple shared a love of art and design and a synergy of styles. They soon started collaborating on projects for Renee’s design clients. They also teamed to design a room in the Junior Symphony Guild’s Show House. In addition to Renee’s design elements, the bold, colorful room also featured their digitally produced drapery treatments and original art. Their collaboration was a hit and the “Zen Den” was featured on the cover of Colorado Homes & Lifestyles in May 2002.
Renee is an active member of the Denver Design Council and the U.S. Green Building Council. She is the mother of two and a volunteer with the Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center.
